Public Service Announcement: Hazard Mitigation October 2022

AUI survey crews will be onsite Thursday, October 13, 2022, in the Upper Canyon area of Ruidoso. Their work will be limited to the area along the river adjacent to 623 Main Rd at the corner of Main Rd and Fox Dr.  The survey work is to gather surface conditions, layout markings for construction fence boundaries, and identify trees for protection and removal.  Initially, the fence boundaries will be marked using small plastic markers known as whiskers. Following the survey work and at a later date, AUI will begin installing orange boundary fencing around the work zone. This work will cause little to no disturbance. Before heavy construction begins, AUI will ensure that additional notification and public outreach will take place.

On Wednesday, October 19, and Thursday, October 20, project personnel (including representatives of AUI, Molzen Corbin, High Water Mark, and the Village of Ruidoso) will be visiting all seven (7) affected areas of the project to conduct site assessments.  Vehicles will be clearly marked with Village or Corporate logos.  Personnel will be wearing fluorescent safety vests to assist property owners in identifying them.
